Knowledge 1: Do not turn on or off the air conditioner too quickly or frequently

When using an air conditioner, sometimes the remote control's shutdown button is pressed incorrectly, or the cooling or heating button is pressed incorrectly. After restarting or switching modes, the compressor will have to wait for a period of time before starting. Why is that? In fact, it is a 3-minute delay in starting the compressor function designed by air conditioning manufacturers in electronic control (which may vary among different products and manufacturers).

The important reason is that regardless of the reasons why the compressor stops running, there will be a high and low pressure difference in the air conditioning refrigeration system, which is directly applied to the suction and exhaust ports of the compressor. If the compressor is started at this time, it will be in a state of starting with heavy pressure. The starting current of the compressor motor is generally more than three times that of normal operation. If it is started under heavy pressure, the motor current will be higher and there is a possibility of burning out the compressor.

After the compressor stops running, the refrigeration system can balance the heavy pressure on the suction and exhaust ports by itself, which usually takes about 3 minutes. Therefore, when designing air conditioners, manufacturers will implement a 3-minute delay start protection to prevent the compressor from starting under heavy pressure and causing burnout.
Knowledge 2: Sometimes air conditioning can blow out mist during cooling

This involves the knowledge of air dew point temperature: due to the presence of an appropriate amount of water vapor in the air, as the air temperature decreases, the water vapor begins to cool. When it reaches a certain temperature, the vapor begins to condense, which is called the dew point temperature. At this point, water vapor will cause the air to reach saturation, and the higher the moisture content in the air, the higher the dew point temperature of the air. If the air that has reached the dew point is further cooled, the water vapor in the air begins to condense into water droplets, which is called condensation phenomenon.

That is to say, the phenomenon of fogging at the air conditioning outlet is actually a natural phenomenon of condensation caused by the air near the outlet encountering the cold air blown out from the outlet. This phenomenon occurs when the cooling effect of a general air conditioner is good and the air humidity near the air outlet is high.

When the air conditioner runs for a period of time and the indoor air humidity decreases, this phenomenon will disappear. But if there is too much condensation at the air outlet, forming obvious water droplets and dripping, affecting normal life, it needs to be inspected and disposed of.
Knowledge 3: Why should air conditioning filters be cleaned regularly?

1. There are some dust, cotton wool, bacteria and other substances in the air. When the air conditioner is running, it will make the indoor air flow, and some substances in the air will be intercepted by the filter. Over time, the air conditioner filter will become very dirty and need to be cleaned to restore its function and clean the air.
