The printer in the office is frequently used, and printer paper jams are the most common fault. Paper jams are not a serious problem, but frequent paper jams can be frustrating. So, what should we do if the printer paper jams? Let's solve it together!
1、 How to solve frequent paper jams in printers?
Firstly, if your printing device experiences a paper jam issue, the correct first step is to turn off the power of the printing device, rather than opening the device's consumables compartment. If you are using a laser printing device or a copier, you will need to wait for about 5-10 minutes because you need to wait until the fixing unit has completely dissipated heat before starting the card removal operation, otherwise be careful not to burn your hands! The second step is to turn off the power and wait for heat dissipation, then remove the consumables from the printing device, and you will see the printer stuck in various shapes and postures inside the printer. You can extract the paper according to the condition of the paper jam, but it is best to extract the paper along the direction of the paper output, which can reduce the difficulty of retrieving the paper jam. Never use too much force, otherwise if you accidentally tear the paper, there will be paper residue inside the printer.
If encountering extremely difficult shredded paper, you can turn on the power and let the printer idle for self inspection, so that the printer will hand over the shredded paper by itself.
2、 What should I do if the paper is always crooked?
One important reason for paper jams is that the paper is crooked, which can be a headache. So, if your printer often experiences misalignment and paper jams, it is very likely that there are foreign objects. Printers are really prone to hiding foreign objects, especially small things like paper clips, staples, buttons, rubber bands, etc. Once they fall in, they can't be seen or found at all. So, this is also one of the reasons for paper jams.
Also, the paper medium and format that office employees usually print on are not exactly the same. Frequent replacement of printing media can also increase the chances of paper jams in printing equipment. The main reason is that the movable paper blocking board on the printer's feed unit is too loose, causing the paper to swing left and right more. Users can reduce the frequency of changing printing media. If a fixed format of printing media is used in the future, adhesive strips can be used to fix the cardboard baffle, reducing the swinging of the paper left and right.
3、 Which printer is less prone to paper jams?
Since many people are afraid of printer paper jams, they often ask what makes a printer less prone to paper jams before purchasing? However, there is really no printer that is absolutely free from paper jams, because the production of printing equipment is related to the design and production process of the manufacturer. Therefore, only printers with a lower probability of paper jams can be selected. Currently, there are three types of paper paths for printing equipment: L-shaped, U-shaped, and S-shaped. Printing equipment using L-shaped paper paths has a lower probability of paper jams, while products designed with S-shaped paper paths not only have a higher probability of paper jams but are also difficult for users to retrieve paper.
