The first step in repairing a violin is to conduct a comprehensive inspection, observing the degree of damage to each part of the violin, the cause of the damage, and the related components. Then establish the main process and sequence of steps for repairing the piano. Good planning will reduce unnecessary rework, and the damage caused by repairing, dismantling, and disassembling the piano will be greater than the original damage.

The maintenance and inspection are as follows:
1. Check the centrality of the neck of the instrument.
2. Check the height of the raised neck of the piano, based on the height of the upper edge of the fingerboard away from the surface of the panel. You can stick the qin horse to the end of the fingerboard and stick it to the panel. Use a pencil to draw the outline of the end of the fingerboard on the qin horse. In the future, whether sticking it back to the panel, neck, or fingerboard, it will be based on it. Of course, if the original height is not suitable, it can also be corrected and installed at the regular height.
3. Check the left and right inclination of the neck.
4. Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the condition of the piano body and design the disassembly sequence, which can refer to the following points:
A. If both the neck and panel need to be removed, first remove the neck.
B. If both the backboard and the panel need to be disassembled and repaired, first disassemble and repair the panel. Before sticking back the panel, use a piano cutter to alternately loosen the joint points between the back panel and the wooden blocks at each end corner from both the inside and outside, but do not loosen the side panel and remove the back panel. The back panel must be reattached before removing it, so that the side panel frame does not deform and the back panel can be safely and conveniently removed.
C. If both the back panel and the front panel need to be disassembled, remove the front panel first. Cut the outline of the panel with a thin plywood, stick it in dots on the side panel and wooden block, and then remove the back panel.
D. When using a piano knife, attention should be paid to the safety of both the instrument and the human body. Careless operation is not allowed, as even slight mistakes can cause permanent harm to both the instrument and the human body.
5. The removed accessories and components should be placed in marked drawers or boxes to avoid unnecessary searching or loss.
